General Membership Questions

  • The current CEO of Chattanooga Federal ECU, Mark Fraker, will lead the day-to-day operations of the combined credit union.  Three current BCBST Employee Credit Union directors will be appointed to the current Chattanooga Federal ECU board to continue representing the interest of BCBST employees.

  • No.  Chattanooga Federal ECU will do the heavy lifting to ensure a smooth transition.  We will be in touch over the coming months and advise of changes to account access and debit cards as we get closer to making those changes.

Your Accounts & Membership

  • Initially, there will be no changes to your accounts or account access as Chattanooga Federal ECU will service your accounts on the same core processing database that BCBST Employees Credit Union has been using until September 30, 2026.  At the close of that day, accounts will be converted to the core processor for Chattanooga Federal ECU.  Your member number should not change, though where you access home banking will change and we will communicate that at a later date.

    There will be no changes for Chattanooga Federal ECU members.

  • YES!  Chattanooga Federal ECU participates in the same Shared Branch Network as BCBST Employees Credit Union, so there are no changes in where you can access your account.


  • There will be no changes for Chattanooga Federal ECU members.

    BCBST Employees Credit Union member’s online banking and mobile app will remain the same until October 1, 2026, at which time they will both transition to Chattanooga Federal ECU’s online banking and mobile app.

  • There will be no changes for Chattanooga Federal ECU members.

    BCBST Employees Credit Union members are still responsible for repaying any loan you have with the credit union. You may find it easier to repay the loan as payments can be drafted from other financial institutions or you may continue to pay via payroll deduction.

  • Absolutely!  Chattanooga Federal ECU is excited to continue this program using the same criteria currently in place.

  • There will be no changes for Chattanooga Federal ECU members.

    BCBST Employees Credit Union members will continue to use their current debit card until we convert to the new core processing system.  You will receive a new Chattanooga Federal ECU branded Mastercard® debit card in September with instructions to begin using it October 1, 2026, at which time your BCBST Employees Credit Union debit card will cease to work.

    Direct deposits and ACH withdrawals will continue to be posted to your account as normal, though any new deposits or withdrawals which require a routing and transit number will need to be given the routing & transit number for Chattanooga Federal ECU, which is found on our website and in our mobile app.

    You may continue to write checks on your account until September 30, 2026.  Like the debit card, new checks will be issued to accountholders who have been writing checks in September to be used beginning October 1, 2026.

    Bill Pay will continue as normal until September 30, 2026.

  • BCBST Employees Credit Union will benefit from the improved technology offered by Chattanooga Federal ECU while gaining access to products & services such as:

    • Debit “Tap to Pay” using Apple Pay & Google Pay (where accepted)

    • Online loan payments & text-to-pay loan payments

    • First mortgage loans

    • Home equity loans

    • Credit cards

    • Anyone can access the credit union office at 2011 Stein Drive.

    • You may retain your credit union membership even if you leave your employment at BCBST.  Once a member, always a member!

  • By growing together, we’re strengthening our financial foundation. In addition, it brings members exciting new ways to thrive, including a new 6-Month CD to maximize your savings and the Helping Hands Loan designed to support you when it matters most.

  • No.  As BCBST is looking to sell their Cameron Hill headquarters, we are no longer able to maintain a presence on Cameron Hill.  Credit union members may still access their accounts at the other seven shared branch outlets in addition to the Chattanooga Federal ECU location.
